I Heart... Nespresso on Sundays

When we were apartment living in Evanston while at Northwestern, my favorite moment of the week (in the offseason of course), was Sunday morning when we'd walk downstairs to Peet's Coffee and get an amazing cappuccino and scone. We could walk across the street to Whole Foods and get fresh flowers... just sort of live this idyllic life - in part because of the cappuccino, in part because it was college. In my mind, every morning was sunny and perfect. Somehow we've selectively forgotten the 30 below temperatures and biting winter winds of Chicago.

Now... we live in the suburbs (enter disgruntled puff of air here) and we have to self create our idyllic moments. Whole Foods is now a car drive away, however we can still have our espresso and scones thanks to the Nespresso maker.

I love this little machine which puts out the perfect, frothy cup of espresso in just seconds. You just pop the little coffee pods in and voila, idyllic moment. The coffee pods can only be purchased from Nespresso directly but they so promptly arrive within 48 hours. Each pod will cost around 50-65 cents, but if you add that up against your Starbucks for the year, it's a luxurious savings. There are a myriad of different machines to choose from.

We even have my own father bought in, who enjoys his own machine every afternoon. Picture a 6'5" ex-football couch drinking from his little espresso cup and saucer - which he says it just the right amount of sophistication in the afternoon for someone like him (insert admiring daughter's chuckle here).

So, on this Sunday morning, find your idyllic moment - and add an espresso.
